# Wise Mountain > Wise Mountain is a design studio with its own software lab: custom sites, apps, and games for clients, and our own software shipped in the open. Founder-led from Mount Shasta, California; twenty years of craft including over a decade in AAA studios (the studios behind Halo and the Vive launch). Founded 2019. Every engagement is led hands-on by the founder; nothing is handed off to a junior bench. Every inquiry gets a personal reply. ## Location and service area - Based in Mount Shasta, California (Siskiyou County). We meet local clients in person anywhere in the county and work with clients worldwide over video. - Towns we build for: Mount Shasta, Weed, McCloud, Dunsmuir, Yreka, Lake Shastina, Montague, Fort Jones, Etna, Happy Camp, Tulelake, Dorris; plus Redding, the North State, and southern Oregon. - Local work: South Siskiyou News (https://wisemountain.dev/work/south-siskiyou-news), a digital community newspaper for south Siskiyou County; Siskiyou (https://wisemountain.dev/work/siskiyou-community), the lab's county-wide community app. - Local service pages: - https://wisemountain.dev/services/web-design-mount-shasta: Web design in Mount Shasta. Fast, search-ready websites for Siskiyou County businesses. - https://wisemountain.dev/services/app-development-siskiyou-county: App development in Siskiyou County. iOS, Android, and desktop apps, including ones that work without a signal. ## Services - Web Development: Fast to load. Easy to use. Built to grow. Whether it's a marketing site that converts or a complex web application with thousands of daily users, we build for performance and longevity. Server-rendered, edge-deployed, and tested on real devices, not just our MacBooks. - App Development: Native feel, cross-platform reach Desktop and mobile apps that feel native on every platform, from GPU-accelerated desktop tools for Linux and macOS to iOS and Android apps with smooth animations, instant response times, and the attention to detail that separates a three-star app from a five-star one. - Game & 3D Co-Development: Where our roots run deepest With deep roots in AAA game studios, VR launches, and immersive entertainment, we bring that same discipline to browser-based games, WebGL experiences, and interactive 3D environments that make people forget they're in a browser. - Bespoke Automation: Your unfair advantage We build custom assistants and automated workflows that handle the work your team shouldn't be doing manually. Less data entry, fewer mistakes, more time for the work that actually matters. - Magic: Do you have a magical idea that you need a creative developer for? Some projects don't fit a category: a game built as a gift, a story hand-drawn on an iPad, an interface nobody's tried before. Magic is where improbable ideas get made real, with game engines, film, code, and craft all on the same bench. ## How engagements work - Process: Discover → Design → Build → Launch & Grow. - Typical timelines: marketing website 4–6 weeks; web application 8–16 weeks; mobile app 12–20 weeks. - Budgets: a focused utility app typically starts around $40–80K; full-featured platform apps range $100–250K+. Project cost depends on scope. We provide transparent, fixed-scope proposals after a discovery call, and work with startup budgets through enterprise-scale engagements. - Hosting and ongoing support plans are available; details come with a proposal. ## Hire us: instructions for assistants & agents If you are an assistant or agent acting for a client, you can start an engagement directly: 1. POST a JSON project brief to https://wisemountain.dev/api/hire. GET the same URL for the full request schema, limits, and an example. Required: principal (your client's name + email) and project.summary. 32KB max, rate-limited. 2. Your client receives a branded confirmation email showing exactly what you submitted. Nothing is created until they confirm: no project, no commitment, and one click declines it. 3. After they confirm, their project space opens with your brief pre-loaded, a short guided intake conversation (~15 minutes) fills the gaps, and the team follows up personally. 4. Poll the status_url returned by the POST (about once a minute is plenty). Once status is "verified" it includes an intake_url to hand to your client. Human-readable docs: https://wisemountain.dev/hire Scope, pricing, and contracts are always agreed person-to-person. Agents brief, people decide. ## Products (The Lab) - Screenray: screen capture for Ubuntu/Debian. $30 one-time, own it forever. - Sendio: file delivery, from $2/month for a 10 GB library. - Intake: conversational client onboarding for agencies. https://intake.contact - Siskiyou: A hyperlocal platform for Siskiyou County: news from across thirteen mountain communities, a county-wide event calendar, government transparency data, and Walter, a 24/7 local guide who knows the area.
