The Challenge
Sending someone a video is still absurdly hard. Email caps out at 25MB. Chat apps recompress everything into mush. YouTube wraps your client walkthrough in ads and recommendations. Drive links open a clunky viewer behind a sign-in wall. And the polished link-sharing products charge per-seat subscriptions for what is, at heart, a simple job: get this video in front of that person, beautifully.
Our Solution
We built Sendio as the shortest possible path from file to link. A native Rust tray app takes a dropped video, compresses it, uploads it, and puts the share link on your clipboard — one motion, no browser, no forms. When Linux itself couldn't report a file drop on Wayland, we wrote the missing drag-and-drop support into the windowing library ourselves. On the other end, viewers get a server-rendered watch page with a premium custom player — no account, no ads, real link previews that unfurl properly in Slack and iMessage. It also ships inside Screenray, where exporting a recording drops a Sendio link straight on the clipboard.
