Positive Futures went live this morning at positivefuturesca.com. It is the new home of Katie Sturtevant's practice in Pismo Beach, California: leadership coaching, team training built around the Enneagram, and a series of women's workshops on the Central Coast. Her clients include PG&E, Hope Family Wines, Bar Method SLO, and Meathead Movers. Her line for all of it: "People aren't broken. They're running old patterns."
The brief
Positive Futures had grown by word of mouth, and Katie needed a site that carried her credibility to people who had not met her yet. Make the services legible. Give the workshops a real home. Help new clients find her. And let her change the copy, swap a flyer, or add a testimonial herself, without waiting on a developer. She had a brand already and wanted no rebrand, no ghostwriting, and no stock photos. Simple, clean, and easy on the eyes, and warm at the same time.
The design
Design ran through her client dashboard: we posted styleboards, she left pinned comments, we posted the next round, moving from a dark first pass to the light, happy direction that shipped. A cream canvas, the teal and sand from her print style guide, a single gold accent used like a highlighter, and serif headlines with an italic word where a sentence turns. The photography is hers, shot at real workshops. A quiet layer of stickers and hand-lettered notes carries the personality; the type and grid stay elegant.
Copywriting was never in scope, and the site is better for it. Every page was built from documents Katie already had, so the services page says what she says: "We don't just coach leaders. We increase their capacity to lead."
A site she can run
Positive Futures runs on the in-place editor we built for client sites. Katie signs in, opens any page, and edits it where it stands: double-click to change text, Save to publish. Testimonials and workshops are shared documents, so an edit in one place updates every page that uses it. Every save is a version that History can restore. She started using it the day before launch, adding three testimonials on her own.
Review worked the same way. In the final week she could press F on any live page and drop a pin with a note. She left sixty-five, and each fix shipped as a versioned change checked on the live page.
Built to be found
Every page carries structured data generated from the live content, plus plain-language FAQs and share cards. Responsive images took the home page from 2.9 MB to 0.65 MB. Contact goes through forms; by Katie's choice, no phone number or email address appears on the site.
Go say hi
Start with Services or the women's workshops. And if you want a site built from your words that you can change yourself, that is what we do. The case study is on our work page.
