The Challenge
A consolidated national news corporation purchased the Mt. Shasta Herald newspaper and decimated effective, community-focused local news for south Siskiyou County. Residents lost the who, what, when, where, and why of their community — the kind of journalism that holds local government accountable and keeps neighbors connected.
Our Solution
We built a digital community newspaper designed to knit the community patchwork back together. The platform delivers local news, government updates, community events, and public interest reporting — all focused specifically on south Siskiyou County. The goal: reconnect area residents to the kind of effective, local journalism they lost.
