The Challenge
Every notes app with AI features sends your data to the cloud. Meeting transcripts, private journals, legal notes, medical observations — all routed through someone else's servers. Users who cared about privacy had to choose between smart tooling and keeping their data to themselves. That's not a real choice.
Our Solution
We built Crux with a fully local AI pipeline. Live audio transcription converts speech to structured notes on-device. Formatting, summarization, and writing assistance all run through local models — no network requests, no API keys, no data leaving the machine. The result is an app that feels as capable as cloud-based alternatives but keeps everything under the user's control.
