Siskiyou Community App
A hyperlocal news, events, and community platform serving 13+ communities across Siskiyou County's 6,347 square miles — with an AI-powered local guide named Walter.

The Challenge
Siskiyou County spans over 6,000 square miles of rural Northern California with 13+ small communities, and there was no single place to find local news, government updates, or events. Residents relied on scattered Facebook groups, outdated county websites, and word of mouth. Information about everything from board of supervisors meetings to farmers markets was fragmented or simply missing.
Our Solution
We built a cross-platform community app that aggregates hyperlocal news, government transparency data (meeting agendas, minutes, live updates from county supervisors and city councils), and a unified community calendar — all organized by town. The centerpiece is Walter, a 24/7 AI-powered local guide that can answer questions about events, summarize the latest news, and recommend local businesses with the knowledge of someone who's actually lived there.
